Sharon graduates from RCHS with a grade point average of 3.818 for four years of high school.
Third in academic ranking in the class of 1982, Lavonne Adkins is senior class president, treasurer of the National Honor Society and business manager for the annual staff.
She played three years of girls basketball, earning her varsity letter this season. Lavonne is a past member of FHA, Keep Virginia Green Club, the photography club and the girls track team and a current member of the [ varsity club. A participant in the Student Cooperative Association for four years. Lavonne graduates with a 3.793 grade point average.
Next year, she plans to attend George Mason University in Fairfax, aiming for a degree in accounting. She then intends to take the certification test that will qualify her as a certified public accountant and hopes to some day open her own accounting firm.
Lavonne is the daughter of Louise Adkins of Washington and James W. Adkins of Front Royal.
The year’s graduating class has five honor students rather than the traditional four with Maxie G irk and Keith Settle in a tie for fourth place standing, both earning 3.68 grade point averages.
