Costume Winners

One of the most popular events at the Culpeper-Madison-Rappahannock Farm Show is the costume class competition during the sheep show. Youngsters showing sheep dress up with their animals to portray characters and are judged for originality. This year the winners were from Rappahannock with first place honors going to Sussannah McNear and second to Matthew Eidson. Sussanah dressed as Miss Piggy and her lamb was Kermit. Last year Sussanah also placed first when she and her lamb dressed as a bride and groom.

In Friday’s sheep show Laura McNear took first place in a special “Pre-4-H” contest. Her mother says the five-year-old thinks she’s pretty “hot stuff’ now that she has a blue ribbon; Laura stayed home to admire it rather than attending the livestock sale and watermelon party at the conclusion of the farm show.
