On Sunday, July 3, at 2 o’clock p.(n. at the Flint Hill United Methodist Church, Barry Wayne Hudson and Nancy Carolee Samuels were united in holy matrimony. The double ring candlelite ceremony was performed by the Reverend Merlin Shorb.
Sherry Settle, organist, played traditional wedding music, with special selections from Lionel Ritchie including, “My Love” and “Truly”, to which the bride and groom dedicated to one another.
Escorted to the alter and given in marriage by Dr. John V. Clift, the bride wore an ivory, original Gunne Saxxe gown. The Queen Anne neckline was edged with venise lace and ivory seed pearls. Venise lace also encrusted the fitted bodice. Schiffli embroidery edged the fitted cuffs of the long venise laced sleeves. Lace motifs were scattered on the A-line skirt, while Schiffli lace embroidery encircled the hemline. Complimenting her gown, the bride wore a wide-brimmed picture hat, which was covered with matching venise lace. Russian netting created a blusher silhouette with seed pearls on the brim and fingertip length English netting dropped from the crown.
The bride carried an ivory fan, entwined with ivory and peach silk roses and ivory baby’s breath. Silk ribbons fell around the English ivy.
Mary Pat McGuinnis of Strasburg was matron of honor. She wore a long peach colored Gunne Saxxe gown with a matching jacket. Tiny peach color silk flowers with ivory baby’s breath adorned her hair. She carried a long-stem
