Mrs. Emily Brent Miller, 70, widow of the late William Arthur Miller of Mountain Green, Washington, died Thursday, July 21, 1983, at Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal.
A native of Richmond, her parents were the late Andrew Jackson and Gussie Reinhardt Brent. Mrs. Miller was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Washington.
Grand dame of Washington’s social set, Mrs. Miller regularly entertained the ladies of the county for luncheon. She was as highly regarded for her hospitality, charm and warmth as she was for her culinary skills.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. J. Stewart Willis, Jr. of Washington; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mary Hamilton Lindenblad of St. Louis, Missouri and one brother, Andrew J. Brent of Richmond.
Graveside services were conducted on Monday, July 25, at 10 a.m. at the Washington Masonic Cemetery by the Rev. Jennings Hobson.
Pallbearers were Harry Lee Smith, Wade H. Massie, Mike Massie, Newbill Miller, Douglas Baumgardner, Kevin Raney, T.C. Lea and Dr. Edwin Eastham.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Episcopal Church Memorial Fund.
Clore Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of arrangements.
