Woodward and Deputy Todd Brown arrested the pair on Friday following a short investigation. They were assisted by Deputy Ed Streapy and Trooper Harry Newlin.
During the investigation, Woodward and Brown uncovered evidence that led to additional charges of breaking and entering and grand larceny at the residence of Mrs. Louise Jenkins in Huntly on Thursday afternoon. According to Woodward, a 30-30 rifle, derringer pistol, jewelry and unspecified amounts of cash were taken from the Jenkins' home.
In addition, Roberts and Mair are charged with breaking and entering and grand larceny in connection with the theft of two cameras pnd other items from the residence of Sherrie Landsdown in Sperryville.
All of the items taken from the Co-op and the two homes have been recovered, Woodward said, adding that his investigation is continuing.
