Amiasville Ambulance
The Amissville Fire and Rescue Squad received the good news that a $24,000 state grant has been approved to go toward an advanced life support ambulance. Accepting the official letter of approval at Tuesday’s EMS annual meeting was Amissville fire and rescue captain Carl “Mudd” James.
James says the money is part of a “hardship grant” program in which the state pays 80 percent for the community’s 20 percent. Such a program gives smaller areas a greater chance for improvements than matching funds which would require the locality to put up half of the money.
