Looking Good
A new class this fall sponsored by the Northern Piedmong Family Y is “Looking Good, Feeling Beautiful”.
Girls ages 11-14 will learn the basics of make-up from local experts in the business.
Selene Mathews, Mary Kay beauty consultant, will discuss a skin care program. Applying foundation, blush and the art of shading and contouring will be taught by Irene Curd of Merle Norman. Beauty For All Seasons fashion consultant, Faye O’Bannon, will give instructions in eye make-up and lip color. Another session will give the girls some basic beauty guides for healthy hair and strong nails.
Members of the class will also learn good posture techniques and basic wardrobe planning. Diet and exercise will be stressed as part of an essential plan for learning healthy beauty habits. Textbook and other supplementary materials are supplied by Avon Products, Inc. Local model, Nancy Hurt, is the class instructor.
Classes will meet for six weeks from 3:30-5 p.m. at Jefferson Savings and Loan in Culpeper starting September 15.
