The general district court session was brief on August 23 with customary traffic offenses making up most of the docket.
However, Judge John Alexander levied a $500 fine in a 1979 drug case to show that he meant business. Mark Christopher Billet of Amissville and Haymarket was charged with possession of marijuana in September, 1979. Last week he was fined $500 plus $35 court costs. His one year probation was also revoked.
Billet was also charged with failure to appear in October, 1980. That charge was dismissed.
