This week, Diane Wood announced that she will be a write-in candidate for the position of supervisor from Hampton District, challenging two-term incumbent Clarence Baldwin.
Wood taught third grade for four years at Rappahannock County Elementary School where she was generally recognized by peers and parents as an outstanding instructor.
She plans to make improvements in the county’s educational system the focal point of her campaign for the board of supervisors. “I thought of all the children I’ve taught in Rappahannock County, all 150 of them,” Wood said, explaining her decision to run. “They are very special people. It’s their future that I care about.’’
