Ranee left his estate to those who really need it. His love for Columbus Greenlee, who worked for the Spellmans for thirty years or more, is beautifully expressed in this will. Not a word appeal's in the will about any monies coming to me in my lifetime. As the court said, in agreement with my interpretation of the will, Ranee bequeathed to me “his entire estate subject to a trust imposed" thereon for the benefit of Columbus Greenlee during his life...”
Ranee left to me, alone, the burden of administering his estate—period. In so doing, he expressed his complete trust in me. I have no need of his property, and he knew that.
Kidwell could have availed herself of the court decree. Better yet, she could have refrained from comment that can only be regarded as mean-spirited. Had Ranee left his property only to me, that would have been his privilege. Once more, he is not here to protest this unspeakable invasion of his privacy. But I am—and I do.
