Eleanor says the Switzers already had their big Thanksgiving dinner. It was Saturday and more than 100 people were there. Eleanor says “food like you never saw in your life” was cooked up by Eulos which is the Hope Hill women’s group named for Eunice and Lois, the wives in the “pastoral epistles.” The whole church membership was invited. They came and had a wonderful time listening to the gospel group Glory Bound, there with guitar, stringed bass, fiddle and banjo.
Then on Sunday, evangelists George and Shirley Milgrim were at Hope Hill and had dinner with the Switzers.
Those in Castleton still getting ready to celebrate Thursday’s gallinaceous holiday were willing to talk turkey when we called Sunday, but what a moment to catch Helen Fridenstine! She said her family from Cape Cod had just walked in the door that very minute the phone rang. They’ll have a weeklong chat and then tell us how it went.
