The Gentrys still live in the old homestead on Route 647 that’s been in the family since the 1870s. Willie’s father moved to Rappahannock around the turn of this century, back in the days of the steam powered pin factory at Sperryville. The elder Gentry set up a steam powered saw mill across from where the Flint Hill volunteer fire house is now' and Willie used to help haul trees and fire and service the steam engines.
Since he grew up with steam engines, Barbara thinks her husband’s hobby a perfectly natural pastime. She says he belongs to a steam engine club in Berryville and that he plans to take his engine to the show there to sell it. He may also
