Frazier
A request from Ronald L. Frazier was removed from the docket. Konick told the board that re-examination of the plat had shown that Frazier didn’t need a variance.
“We visited the site yesterday and it probably would have come out the same way so that's good,” said chairman Lee Bird.
Frazier had requested a variance to position his house within 75 feet from the rear of his property on State Route 642 in the Jackson District about two miles southwest of Amissville. Upon further study of the maps, Frazier saw that he had enough room for the required setback.
Brown
William J. Brown applied for a variance to construct an addition to his, existing nonconforming house in Old Hollow. The house, which was built during the 1920s, is located 61 feet from the centerline of State Route 600. The Browns told the board that their architect had spent a whole day trying to figure out another way to build the addition to conform, but couldn’t find a solution.
The plan is to make the present front of the house into the back and add a new entrance without tearing up a recently remodeled kitchen. But there is a septic tank near the drive and a well on the other side of the
