The Rappahannock County Office of Emergency and Energy Services, phone 675-3744 or 937-4501, is now searching for amateur radio operators and needs additional personnel to assist the OEES during a crisis. For general information or to inquire about emergency services organizations contact the OEES.
The thought of a disaster is not pleasant, but unfortunately, one home destroyed by a tornado or a village under water must be anticipated, and people and services must be available to respond to the needy. Gratefully, we have been spared from a major cataclysm. Much has been accomplished to upgrade the county’s state of readiness but a lot remains to be done. However, through the efforts of many of Rappahannock’s citizens we are getting ready for the unexpected.
