I hasten to add that this is not intended as a blanket indictment of all hunters. Some, although I suspect they are a minority, are true sportsmen. They respect the laws, respect local property ownership and, just as importantly, respect the game they are hunting.
All too many, however, seem to think the world becomes theirs when the season opens, and they spend the next couple of months littering the highways with beer cans, scaring the bejeezis out of the local citizenry and infuriating their fellow hunters who are trying to play by the rules.
Unfortunately, the condition of relative anarchy prevailing during hunting season is not limited to the sportsmen in the field.
