strictly comply with county zoning ordinances, only to see other people in the county, particularly a few large landowners, a few business owners and a few professionals, “get around” the ordinances to do what they want regardless of the Zoning. I’ve heard people say that evidentally the best thing to do is do what you want, then go get your zoning permit.
I personally would like to ask the BZA why they allowed Mrs. Saltonstall to bury Mr. Spellman on the mountain behind our house when the county zoning ordinance only allows “family” graveyards in conservation and agricultural districts. According to the Washington Times newspaper, a few of Spellman’s friends want to be buried there also. Perhaps the BZA issued a special permit. If so, I missed reading the public notice for the application for such a permit.
