Icy roads led to a scattering of minor traffic accidents around the county in the past week.
Last Tuesday night, January 10, Sheriff John Henry Woodward was caught in the unexpected ice storm at around 6:45 p.m. Traveling north from Woodville on Route 522, he lost control of his 1983 Chevette on the slick road, hit a bank and flipped the car. Neither Woodward nor his family members who were passengers were Injured in the accident. However, the ear was totaled. v
Monday morning, January 16, Kenny Pullen was travelling on Route 522 in Flint Hill, crested a hill and hit his brakes to avoid a slow moving vehicle. His 1982 Datsun skidded into a Ford van coming from the opposite direction driven by Larry Andrick of Mt. Jackson. The collision spun Pullen’s car out of control and it hit a residence on Route 522 owned by Dr. Werner Krebser, according to Trooper R. A. Baines.
