Clarence Richard Racer, 81, formerly of Rappahannock and Front Royal, died Thursday, January 12, 1984, in Rockingham Memorial Hospital, Harrisonburg.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday at the Washington Baptist Church by the Rev. Thomas Geiman and Larry Glick, a grandson. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery at Washington.
Mr. Racer was bom March 3, 1902, in Rappahannock County, son of the late Richard and Virginia Racer. He owned and operated Smedley’s Store in Rappahannock and was retired from American Viscose at Front Royal. He was married to the late Mabel Jenkins Racer.
Surviving are one daughter, Jean Glick of Port Republic; one sister, Anna Fincham of Amissville; five grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
