After reading the article “Under Protest, Latham Accepts Chairmanship,” January 12, 1984, I wondered why anyone who is now a supervisor ever ran for the job. They certainly had the time to attend forums, advertised, be interviewed and visit supporters prior to elections but now, no one has the time to be chairman.

In December, at a Rappahannock Players meeting in Stuart Eiland’s house, an unanimous vote instructed me to write to the News an expression of the Players’ deep gratitude to Peter Kreyling for his enormous gift of time and talent to the maturing of the Gay Street Theatre. Others have given heroicly too, and will be remembered thankfully anon, but the name that now leads the long list is Peter’s and it should be allowed to stand out. Many thanks from all of us, Peter.
