Of course you know about the weather. Like to freeze the black-eyed peas that haven’t even been born yet. But that doesn’t mean all activity has stopped until spring. There’s life in those hills. For instance Monday night we learned:
Carroll and Sadie Fox went to Chantilly Saturday to eat with Mrs. Audry Evans.
Gene Fisher’s sister Jinna Perkins and her family came from Harpers Ferry Sunday afternoon to visit. (Also an injured 45 pound buzzard who sat on the gate post all day acting like Poe’s raven — at least until one of the yellow cats from up the hill tried to stalk him and the bird dive-bombed the kitty. Gene says the game warden told him to just leave them all alone; they could fend for themselves.) His brother-inlaw Steve, niece Jennifer and nephew Danny were also there.
Mary and Brian Tauss are expecting her mother, Virginia Bertram, and her aunt, Barbara Stillman from Philadelphia, to visit this weekend. Mary says she’s especially looking forward to seeing her aunt. Mrs. Stillman hasn’t been to Castleton for a couple of years.
Mrs. Fridenstine says Neil and his family are coming down this weekend to watch The Game.
Milton Switzer says Eleanor is doing pretty well after her recent heart attack. Ruth went back to New York Thursday.
The pastor also says he has a big program planned for Sunday evening at Hope Hill. A missionary family from Fairfax Baptist Temple will tell about their work in the Philippines. It’s
