As far as kids and school closings go, no news is bad news.
According to superintendent Robert Estabrook, if listeners tuning into local radio stations hear no announcements on school closings in Rappahannock, it means that classes will be held.
Stations should begin broadcasting announcements between 6:30 and 7 a.m. if classes are cancelled due to bad weather. “We have to make a decision by 6 a.m. in order to notify the bus drivers in time," said Kstabrook. "Then it takes us about lo minutes to contact all the radio stations."
