AT,don Statemore Whitmer, 58, of Markham, died Saturday, January 14,1984, at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mt. Jackson by the Rev. Dewey Fleishman. Burial was in Christ United Church cemetery at Conicville.
Mr. Whitmer was born July 1, 1925, in Fauquier County, son of the late Rufus Homer and Ollie Lee Whitmer Polk.
Surviving are his wife, the former Katie Lamb; four sons, Rogert Whitmer of Berryville, Charles Whitmer of Linden, George Whitmer of Front Royal and Benjamin Whitmer, at home; five daughters, Patricia Dye of Amissville, June Campbell of Huntly, Shelby Lake of Hume, Janice Kuser of The Plains, and Tina Whitmer, at home; 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mary Frances Lamb of Madison and Joyce Smith of Weyers Cave and four brothers, Thomas Polk and Bruce Polk, both of Woodstock, Ronnie Polk and Robert Polk, both of Quicksburg.
