Charles Hoover Brown, 55, of Syria, died Tuesday, May 8, 1984, at Culpeper Health Care Center. He was a construction worker and a native of Madison County.
Graveside services were held on Friday at Fairview Cemetery by the Rev. Maret Dismore and Chuck Shifflett.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Brown of Hampton and three daughters, Mrs. Charlotte Reece of Hampton, Mrs. Shirley Long of Denbigh and Mrs. Linda Firth of Poquoson.
Also surviving are eight sisters, Mrs. Virginia A. Dodson of Slate Mills, Mrs. Frances Lengel of Indian Head, Md., Mrs. Teresa Brown of Sperryville, Mrs. Eunice Wharton of Culpeper, Mrs. Lorain Tompkins of Tucson, Arizona, Mrs. Hatti Broyles of Etlan, Mrs. Marie Seale and Mrs. Irene Nicholson, both of Syria and two brothers, Aubrey Brown of Madison and Fordice Brown of Syria.
Clore Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of the arrangements.
