It appears, at least to this point in the month, that May is trying to rival March for the traditional title of being the “windy” month.
Beginning Friday, May 11, May started bringing some steady winds from just about every direction. Friday’s winds came steadily from the South in the afternoon with high clouds allowing the sun to break through most of the day. Saturday dawned with overcast, a brief shower, clearing, and then winds from the Northwest. Sunday and Monday both gathered the winds at gusts up to 30 m.p.h. Sunday’s winds carried in from the South and Southwest through the late evening and Monday’s shifting winds from the North cleared the skies providing us with lots of sunshine.
The recent lack of threatening skies, little precipitation and much sunshine has allowed many of us that opportunity to crank up the lawn mower, work in the garden, have our cookouts
