“Sound Of Music”
Rappahannock County High School will present “The Sound of Music” by Rodgers and Hammerstein on May 25 and 26.
Don Bomberger, veteran director of a long list of ambitious and well-received plays at RCHS, is especially enthusiastic about this latest production.
According to Bomberger, "The Sound of Music” is the most complex play ever staged at RCHS; the set is the most complicated ever designed. There are ten different stage arrangements, relying on large turntables and revolving flats. A student crew of nine is needed to change the sets during the play and an additional crew is used to move smaller props.
A cast of 35 students, ranging in age from 6 to 18, will appear on stage. A community orchestra of ten musicians will provide music for the singers.
“The Sound of Musk” curtain will rise at 8:00 p.m. on May 25 and 26 at the RCHS auditorium. Tickets are 12.50.
