“Pop Quiz”
Tune in tonight, Thursday, May 17, for the semifinal round of WVPFs Pop Quiz that pits Rappahannock County High School against Woodberry Forest of Orange.
The RCHS foursome of Ann Oliver, Cheryl Atchison, Jonathan Watson and Will Oliver will be ready to hit the buzzers at 8:30 p.m. for the first toss-up question. The academic competition will be broadcast over UHF stations 51 and 42.
The Whiz Kids from RCHS are one of 32 contingents from the Piedmont area and the Shenandoah Valley that started down the road to the Final Four last winter. The other two remaining teams, E. C. Glass and Western Albemarle, will meet next Thursday, May 24. This year's championship round will be played Thursday, May 31. -
Hunt Trailride, Picnic
The Rappahannock Hunt Trailride and picnic will take place at Montpelier this Sunday, May 20, beginning at 11 a.m. when the traUriders leave. A chili, pie and cookie contest bakeoff also will be part of the festivities. Food entries must be submitted by 2 p.m. The Picnic begins at 3:30. Cost is $10 per traihider; $5 for non-riders. Proceeds will benefit the New Fund of the Rappahannock Hunt. Everyone is welcome. (Please bring a covered dish for the “share" picnic table.)
