INVITATION TO BID
T*ie County of Rappahannock, Virginia, solicits bids from persons desiring to provide solid waste pickup and disposal services for Rappahannock County. The winning bidder shall be required to enter into a written contract requiring him, or her. to do as follows:
1. Remove and dispose of all solid waste placed at dumpster sites within said county;
2. Furnish all solid waste dtapoeal trucks of proper size and character tor said work and shall at all times keep said trucks in a safe and serviceable condition and operated by careful and competent drivers. and of such number as to enable Contractor to perform prompt and efficient service;
3. Furnish and place all solid waste containers with a total capacity of not less than one hundred ninety-four (194) cubic ywde at locations selected and furnished by the County;
4. Furnish, maintain and operate a sanitary landfill for the proper disposal of said solid waste in accordance with state and local
5. Empty each refuse container two times a week and at several locations three times a week, and to remove the excess trash on the ground at each container location;
6. SubmH a signed written report to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors quarterly giving details on the condition of each collection site, and the date and time (A.M. or P.M.) of service;
7. Institute an effective rat control program at each container location;
6. Maintain each container and each container site in a proper and dean manner Ad contents of each container shall become the property and responsibility of the Contractor and shall be disposed of by the Contractor in a proper and lawful sanitary landfill
9. The Contractor shall at ad times keep his trucks insured as to both personal and property damaga with a reputable insurance company. which policy or pofidee shall expressly protect said County and be delivered to and held by the County.
10. The Contractor shall indemnify and save die County harmlees from any and all liability, damage, expense, cauee of action, suits at law or equity, arising from injury to any person or property growing out of any act, failure to ad or negligence of die Contractor, his agents or employees, during the performance of this agreement
The procedures established for competitive sealed bide by the Virginia Public Procurement Act (S11-35 at seq.) of the Code of Virginia shad apply. All bide shad be received by no later than 12:00 noon on 28 May 1984, at the Clark's Office, Circuit Court for Rappahannock County. P.O. Box 116, Washington, Virginia 22747. Bids will be opened publicly at 1 flO p.m. on that data in the Clerk's Office. The contract will be awarded at the Board of Supervisors’ Meeting in Washington, Virginia, on 4 June 1984 at 10:00 a.m. The winning bidder wid be required to enter into a written contract containing the above-stated terms on or before 4 June 1964.
