This year’s appearance of Halley’s Comet has captured enormous ^ public interest and prompted many people to search their closets for binoculars to use in comet watching. . Halley’s comet is popular because “it is one of the few comets that has so many (29) recorded sightings,” and because of its historical nature, said Henry Leap, James Madison University (JMU) physics instructor.
