Welcome
On Saturday Virginians will have a new Governor, Lieutenant-Governor and Attorney General.
Gerald L. Baliles, L. Douglas Wilder, and Mary Sue Terry, overwhelmingly elected to their new jobs by Rappahannock citizens, are indeed an historic slate — this ticket includes the first black since Reconstruction and the first woman ever elected to state office.
The strong, decisive leadership of the Robb administration helped, of course, propel these candidates into office. But they are their own people — each had excellent records of public service that demonstrated strong leadership potential.
We welcome them and urge you to support this new and exciting team in Richmond.
