Do you know what the shelter will be like? The dogs will have outside runways opening from their cages. At night they will be enclosed in these cages on the inside of the shelter which will be heated electrically in the winter and cooled by fans in warm weather. Please -DO think in terms of a pet shop rather than in terms of an open kennel of 20 — 60 howling hounds.
According to state law the dogs must be held five days and then they may be euthanized. All are not held this long. Some are returned to their owners the same day.
This is a COUNTY problem and we are not Fauquier nor even Culpeper. Level-headed, responsible citizens from all over the county should visit the site and surrounding area and help the supervisors makjr a decision. We were told that mpre than $400 had already been invested
