Covering the five counties of Planning District 9, the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Center operates nutrition sites for citizens over sixty years of age, substance abuse programs, adult education programs for mentally retarded citizens, the family guidance services in each of the five counties and numerous other programs. To serve the transportation needs of these clients, the Center operates a fleet of 17 vans throughout the five-county area, travelling over half a million miles annually in combined mileage. In 1986, the Center continues to offer a limited number of seats to the general public between the counties.
