“There are countless people who have been helped and are functioning beautifully through the use of chemotherapeutics. For that we are all grateful. But the expense, be it financial, emotional or spiritual, is often great.”
“I think the fear we have from AIDS is similar at times to the fear we have when we ourselves are sick: we immediately think the worst. Is that lump a tumor? Is that chest pain a heart attack?”
“When we are sick, if we stop and listen to what our bodies, who are our closest friends, are trying to say to us, many problems can be simplified. I am not saying the same for AIDS, but I feel that if we — as a society — listen to what the earth as well as society itself is saying — we\ can gain a better sense of control.”
