New biographies include Mary Lou the first-hand story of seventeen year-old gymnast Mary Lou Retton and Outside the Magic Circle the autobiography of Virginia Durr. The latter compiled from hours of taped interviews is the fascinating account of an Alabama born and bred aristocrat who became ait activist in the civil rights movement during Roosevelt’s adminstration and has continued her crusade to the present.
