• ton, Va. has retired after serving 39 years with the Rappahannock National Bank. He remains, however, the president of the organization.
Rappahannock County’s deer season ended last Tuesday with a total season kill of 205. Nine bear were taken during the season for that specie which ended December 31.
All members of the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors were present for the January meeting held Thursday, and they accepted, with regret, the resignation of Miss Judy Burtner, Extension Agent, Home Economics who plans on returning to school to secure her masters degree.
The Division of Forestry reports that 227 forest fires burned 977 acres of Forestland in the 16county Northern Piedmont District during 1970. In Rappahannock County, only one fire occurred burning 3 acres of open land.
The Adult Education classes in Rappahannock County got underway on Thursday evening at the local high school with 61 attending and participating in one of seven courses offered. A few vacancies remain in chair caning, typing, carving and small engines classes
