The committee’s report was presented to the Rappahannock supervisors last fall. Reportedly, an unidentified county has agreed to accept Rappahannock’s trash at its landfill for two years at an unspecified cost.
Rappahannock, in “aggressively promoting a regional approach to solid waste management,” has also asked the planning district commission to put the issue on its work program for the current year, but director Wayne Cilimburg notes that the planning district lacks money to undertake a comprehensive study.
