Providing you with continuous, dependable electric service is our first priority at Potomac Edison. Despite our best efforts, there are times when Winter storms and blizzards get the upper hand and disrupt your service. When this happens, there are several things you can do to help minimize your inconvenience and also help us restore your power as quickly as possible. 1. Be Prepared Establish an easy-to-reach place in your home where you can always have the following emergency items available: • Flashlight with extra batteries • Several candles and holders • Matches • Small battery-powered radio • List of emergency phone numbers including Potomac Edison and an electrician • Hand-operated clock • Hand-operated can opener 2. Do Your Neighbors Have Power? Check with your neighbors to see if they have electric service. If they do, the problem may be in your own home. Check for tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses. You may require the services of an electrician.
