3. Call Potomac Edison
If your neighbors are also without electric service, call Potomac Edison. You’ll find your local office number on the reverse side of your electric bill or in your phone book. Give your name, address, phone number and any other necessary information. During major storms, you may receive a busy signal, but please keep dialing until you reach us. Stay clear of any fallen or downed electric lines.
4. When Your Power Is Off
When your power is off, leave one light switch in the “on” position so you’ll know when your electric service is restored. Turn off or unplug any major appliances you may have been using when the power went off. Food will keep for up to two days in your refrigerator or freezer tf the doors are not opened, so avoid opening more often than absolutely necessary.
