A “Gifted and Talented” information meeting was scheduled for February 25th at 7:30 in the RCES gym. This will provide an opportunity for parents to attend a presentation given by RCES principal, Mrs. Piper, on the purpose and goals of this new program. A question and answer period will immediately follow. The intent of this session is to clarify the vague and ambiguous knowledge many people have of this valuable program.
A newly designed permanent logo has been agreed upon. The design was created by Maggie Rogers who is also the playground chairman for the SPTA.
There was a lengthy discussion on the purchase of new equipment to enhance the present sound system. This area will be pursued at the next meeting pending further investigation and consolidation of the needs and desires of the students and staff.
A preliminary presentation on the purchase of several bookcases and a bulletin board was next on the agenda. Additional information relative to cost, placement and teachers’ requirements will be presented next month.
