Tax Booklets

delayed

Virginia Tax Commissioner William H. Forst announced today that the mailing of Withholding Tax Booklets to employers required to file a Virginia monthly return has been delayed by the state’s vendor.

Approximately 49,000 monthly withholding tax filers were originally scheduled to receive a 12month supply of returns in a coupon booklet the first week in February. Due to serious problems being experienced by the vendor, Cummins-Allison Corporation of Indiana, the booklets will be mailed late.

Employers filing monthly Virginia withholding returns will receive their coupon booklets beginning the week of February 11, 1986, but no later than February 19, 1986. The employer’s January report filing date is February 20,1986. Employers are asked to wa^t until after February 20,1986, before calling the Department of Taxation about the coupon booklets since all booklets should be received by February 19th.
