Walter Ryder
Mr. Walter Joseph Ryder, 79, of Etlan died Wednesday, February 5, 1986, at his residence.
Mr. Ryder was retired from the Virginia Department of Highways.
Surviving are his wife Mrs. Bertha Yowell Ryder, of Etlan; two daughters, Mrs. Daisy Ryder Skeens, of Nora, and Mrs. Catherine Ryder Carr, of Culpeper; three sons, James W. Ryder, of Culpeper, Douglas F. Ryder, of Banco and David C. Ryder, of Etlan.
Additional survivors include one sister, Mrs. Iris Haynes, of Etlan; one brother, Elton Ryder, of Maryland; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, February 8 at the Etlan Cemetery with the Rev. Harold Pickrell officiating.
Clore Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mary Foster
Mary Magdalene Foster, 69, of Flint Hill, died Friday, February 7, 1986 at Royal Haven Rest Home in Front Royal.
Mrs. Foster was born July 17, 1916, in Rappahannock County, daughter of the late Edward and Bertha Smoot Burke. She was married to the late Guy Foster.
Surviving are two sons, Guy E. Foster, of Sperryville and Jerry W. Foster, of Flint Hill; two daughters, Betty Foster, of Luray and Mary Beumer, of Manassas; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
