The Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution that states it “shall and will make categorical cuts to the school budget, if the School Board, having previous and generous notice of this intent, fails to do so.” Rappahannock County School Superintendent Robert Estabrook read the resolution at the beginning of the School Boards’s monthly meeting on Tuesday night.. That meeting was primarily devoted to public response of the Superintendent’s proposed budget which was released last week.

The resolution begins by stating that “in light of the very serious action taking place all over this country, in, the form of Gramm-Rudman and others, creatjed to curb spending, reduce deficits, and limit/taxation, it is becoming painfully clear that Rappahannock County taxpayers are going to bec^rhe financially responsible at the local level...” i
