This year, March 14-20, will mark the 11th observance of Virginia Agriculture Week. An annual event that calls attention to the first, and largest industry in Virginia that has in so many ways contributed to the quality of life for each of us.
The original idea for such a celebration came from the Board of Agriculture and Consumer Services in 1976 during the country’s Bicentennial observance. The first theme was “Freedom’s Roots - Agriculture.”
