Students at Wakefield are hard at work this week preparing entries for the third annual Science Fair. The fair, which will take place Saturday, March 15, will have 170 individual entries from prep school students, and group or class exhibits from students in the pre-kindergarten through grade 7.
Participation in the fair is a mandatory part of Wakefield’s Science Department curriculum. Students, under the direction of Department Chairman Art Zoebelein, began the research for their projects in September.
The kindergarten students, planning a display on photosynthesis, began working with sweet potatoes after Christmas. The first grade class has been carefully watching for signs of life from the ready-to-hatch chicken eggs in their classroom incuFrances

Scholarship offered
The Rappahannock County Garden Club will once again offer the Frances J. Leonard Memorial Scholarship grants to graduating seniors of Rappahannock County High School for the purpose of continuing their education.
One grant in the amount of $1,500 will be given as well as two grants for $400 each.
Applications for grants are available at the Guidance Department in the high school. All applications must be returned to the Guidance Department by March 26th.
