The Reverend Jennings Hobson III has announced that Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington will formally introduce the new Episcopal hymnal during the March 16 services.
The hymnbook, entitled “The 1982 Hymnal”, is the first since the 1940 edition.
Music is an integral part of the worship service of the Episcopal Church, Mr. Hobson explained. “Almost every version of Judeo-Christian faith has agreed that music is important to the worship of God,” he states.
“The hymnal is important in the Episcopal Church because we do not have a great body of official doctrine,” Mr. Hobson said.
