incomes. However, the teachers in this county have seen regular increases in their salaries, while farmers, people on fixed incomes and other taxpayers have not enjoyed that financial benefit.
Not being a good liberal Democrat, I don’t support large and sudden tax increases on any taxpayers, especially‘those involved in industries that are suffering economically. If we force landowners to sell subdivisions of their land in order to pay unfair tax increases, then the real estate developers, pollution, increased crime and the loss of our heritage will surely follow. No doubt, this is what a few individuals and groups may desire and call progress. Is this what the citizens of Rappahannock County want to leave to our “most important crop?”
