at uav/O wuun^ut^U) “For some of the kids it’s the first time they’ve been away from home. That’s a big thing for this age group. It gives them a chance to be independent and they will be able to relate things to their studies better.”
Mrs. Giles continued, “I realize that being a chaperone will be a big responsibility. But I felt that I should help out too since Lynne and all the kids have worked so hard.”
The total cost of the trip is $12,500. With a lot of hard work for the past two years the students have been able to raise most of the money themselves. The SPTA donated $500 and individuals have given money to go towards the student’s cost of $50.
“Without the help of the community we could never have raised this much money,” said Mrs. Baines.
Students Will Adams and Jenny Lamm agreed that the sale of pizza kits was the most effective method of raising money.
“We couldn’t have raised the money if the people hadn’t bought the pizza kits so we need to thank the people for buying them,” commented Will Adams.

school has changed
All children are eligible to enter school in 1986 if they are five years of age by November 30. This is in accordance with changes in school entrance age enacted by the 1985 General Assembly.
Registration for children who hre entering kindergarten for the first time this fall will be held at Rappahannock County Elementary School on Tuesday, March 18, and Wednesday, March 19, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1 to 3 p.m. by appointment. This may be arranged by calling the school at 987-8259. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
