Eugene Roane, Jr.
Col. Eugene Stuart Roane, Jr., USMC (Ret.), of ,Ca8tleton, died Sunday, March 9, 1986, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg. He was 65.
Col. Roane was a veteran of the Korean War and World War II. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and of the Greenwich Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Olivia H. Roane of Castleton, three daughters, Mary J. Flesh of Woodbridge, Stephanie Roane of Annandale and Nancy Roane of Baltimore, Md., and one grandson.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, March 12, at the Moody Funeral Service Chapel, by the Rev. Lynn Johnson. Interment was at the National Cemetery with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart Fund.
Virginia Fassett
Mrs. Virginia Burke Fassett, 85, of Culpeper, died Saturday, March 8,1986, in the Culpeper Health Care Center.
Mrs. Fassett was a native of Rappahannock County and had lived in Culpeper for many years. She was the retired owner of Virginia’s Beauty Shop, a member of the Culpeper Baptist Church and a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Culpeper.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Howard T. Aylor of Culpeper and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service was conducted Tuesday, March 11, in Culpeper National Cemetery by the Rev. Floyd T. Binns.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Culpeper County Volunteer Fire Company and the Culpeper County Rescue Squad.
Clore Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Kenneth Harden
Kenneth Eugene Harden, 26, of Lignum, died Monday, March 3, 1986, at the National Institute of Health, Bethesda, Md.
Mr. Harden was born in Pendaya, Cyprus, and had lived in Thailand, Norway and the Philippines. He was a 1977 graduate of Culpeper County High School and a 1981 graduate of Randolph-Macon College. At the time of his death, he was employed by the American Security Council Foundation.
