Beekeepers meeting
The spring beekeepers meeting will be held Thursday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Culpeper Extension Office, across from the courthouse.
Interested beekeepers are invited. Newcomers are especially welcomed.
President, J. C. Cone of Locust Dale, will discuss Spring Beekeeping Management, information will be given on ordering package bees, and Mason H. Hutcheson, Extension Agent, Culpeper, will speak and show slides on the Beekeepers Tour to Nicaragua where he experienced the wild African bees in several apiaries.
This is the first of four quarterly meetings for 1986 sponsored by the Northern Piedmont Beekeepers Association.
Lenten dinner on Wednesday
Community Lenten Service this Wednesday, March 19 at Trinity Episcopal Church. A covered dish supper begins at 6:15, and a nursery is provided during the program.
Inn Workshop
The Conyers House in Slate Mills is holding a workshop for innkeepers and those who are considering the possibility of having an inn. The workshop will explore various facets of running an inn, including marketing strategies, regulations, daily operations, house specialities and finances.
The $25 cost includes a complimentary lunch. The workshop will be held Saturday, March 22.

“Changing Voices, the Southern Literary Renaissance” book discussion series continues at the Library Monday, March 17 at 7:30 p.m. Dr. M. Thomas Inge, English professor at Randolph Macon College will lecture on William Faulkner’s Sartoris, and Bill Young, Waldron O’Connor, Dorothy Mank, and Chris Bird will do a dramatic reading from the novel.
“Passages” — final performances
The play will be presented at 8:00 p.m. at the Clarke County High performances on Thursday, March 13, Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March 15.
The play “Passages — Clarke County Folklore" will hold its final School in Berryville. There will be a 2:00 p.m. matinee performance on Saturday, March 15.
