Workshop rescheduled

Due to the recent bad weather; the “Money for College” workshop has been rescheduled for Friday, Feb. 13, at 2 p.m. Parents, students and anyone else interested in financial aid opportunities for higher education are urged to attend. For more information, call the high school (987-8575).

Trapezoid in concert

The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community presents Trapezoid at the Gay Street Theatre on Sunday, Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m. The popular local group is appearing with Howard Levy, nationally recognised musician proficient on a variety of instruments.

Tickets will be $7.50 for the general public; $6 for RAAC members and $4 for children.

In conjunction with the first Rappahannock County appearance of Trapezoid’s new sound, the Middle Street Artists’ Cooperative will be host to a reception immediately following the performance. Brambles Cafe will also be open for dinner, beginning at 5 p.m.

Valentine’s coffeehouse

There will be a Valentine’s Day coffeehouse at the Middle Street Artists’ Cooperative on Saturday, Feb. 14, from 8:30 p.m. until midnight.

There will be an open stage, and the public is invited to bring their talent and join in the fun. Admission for the evening will be $2.

4-H Share the Fun

The annual production of the Rappahannock 4-H Share the Fun Contest will be presented Friday, March 6 at 7:30 p.m. The contest is open to all Rappahannock County residents between the ages of 9 and 19. Categories include vocals, instrumental, drama, dance, variety and combination.

Practices will be held on Feb. 11,18,25 and March 4 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the elementary school.

Interested youngsters may sign up in the office at the elementary and high school. For more information, contact the Extension Office in Washington (675-3619).
