The next show will be a "Gallery Members and Friends” exhibition, in which cooperative artists are being asked to invite their friends to sub- . mit works for the show. Each artist will be represented by one work, and Mrs. Overton said she hopes to have some really suprising and outstanding work from outside artists included in the show.
"We are really seeking quality,” she emphasized. “We also feel it is extremely important to encourage l our members to continue to learn and devdop their artistic skills.”
As part of the remodeling effort, bins for storage of art not on exhibit ' were added. Mrs. Overton explained that will be useful when potential clients come from out of town to see a particular artist’s work. "It was always a disapointment when none of the work was there to be displayed.”
The gallery’s regular business hours will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6 to 10 p.m., and by appointment. The "Art from the Heart” opening will be held on Saturday, Feb. 7. from 6 to 10. , $
A coffeehouse will be held at the gallery on Valentine’s Day, from 8:30 p.m. until midnight. Admission is $2. There will be an open stage, and the public is encouraged to "bring their talent and come.”
The cooperative is also sponsoring a reception following the Trapezoid concert on Sunday, Feb. 8.
Mrs. Overton said that the coffeehouse and reception are examples of the type of activity the gallery is i encouraging. When it is not otherwise in use, the gallery is available for coffeehouses, receptions and workshops.
